In the Firing Line
My recent conversation with Margaret Hoover.
I recently sat down with Margaret Hoover of PBS’ Firing Line for a wide-ranging conversation about my new book, Autocrats vs. Democrats: China, Russia, America, and the New Global Disorder.
We discussed the different challenges posed by Russia and China, what it will take to secure peace in Ukraine, and why support for democracy must remain at the core of American foreign policy.

Coulda', shoulda', woulda' : In point of fact, China, Russian Federation, not including international terrorism, are a huge expense on the world (economy), and an antithetical burden to progress everywhere, especially in the political arena. The cost to the world community at this time of the tyranny and oppositional and confrontational policies of just these two nations has frozen any anticipated amelioration or progression in international ties and relations foreseeably for decades to come. Fortunately, there is an annual international security conference that takes place in Central Europe each year, though I revert to the idea of Franklin Roosevelt's resolution (to be applied presently(?) to post - Cold War communist and former communist regimes) of the need for the "Four Policemen" (not the Light Brigade -- U.S. / U.K. / Russia / P.R.C.) that was called for after 1939 - 1945 establishing imperatives and obligations for everyone to avoid the sort of slippery slope into disorder and conflict we are all on at present.
