Syllabus for My Course on Great Power Relations in the 21st Century
As always, I am open to feedback and suggestions!
This week is the final week of the academic year at Stanford. On another platform, I posted a photo from the last session of my seminar on the Great Power Competition. Over the years, hosting students for dinner at our home for the last class has become a tradition. This course was about competition (and cooperation) between the U.S., China, and Russia, as I’m finishing a book on the subject. A few people have asked me for the syllabus so posting it here. This was my first time teaching this course, so suggestions for how to improve the syllabus are most welcome. And if there are any eager readers of the book in draft, happy to send the chapters too! But beware. The current page count for the book is 1,186. The current word count is 243,204. I’ve got a lot of editing to do this summer! Stay tuned for trail runs of the arguments to come in future posts.
You can also access the syllabi of the many courses I taught on my website: https://michaelmcfaul.com/teaching.
