Woo - this is great ! The more pressure we all put on Congress, specifically the House of Deliberate Chaos, the better. I did a direct mail / jumbo postcard to each of their DC offices, all 215+ on March 24. Now I just sent a 2nd series out (different design, theme is apocalyptic -Putin's New World Order) to hopefully catch them before the weekend. The reason for jumbo postcards: they will be seen, no envelopes necessary.

I don't like at all the machinations of the MAGA house...first (after Trump's orders) it's block the vote on the aid bill. Now that they have given Putin plenty of time to replenish his war machine and take full advantage of Ukraine's lack of defensive munitions...this week I hear the Speaker mention "the aid bills will be separate, and there will be plenty of time to amend these bills, and to vote with your conscience."

I see how it is. More foot dragging, to give Putin's tsunami of propaganda more time to infect the legislators and infect the public at large. Any ideas on counteracting the insane lies the Kremlin is targeting us with?

Hi Ambassador McFaul,

I'm hoping you can help further my education on the following questions, which I'm having difficulty understanding. Please correct these numbers as needed, thanks.

===============

QUESTION 1: As best I can tell, Ukraine's allies are about 20 times richer than Russia, as measured by GDP.

United States - 25 trillion

EU - 19 trillion

BOTH = 44 trillion

Russia = 2 trillion

My question is: Why does Ukraine not have 20 times as many artillery shells as Russia? And other such equipment.

I'm aware of the MAGA problem in the U.S. Congress. But, are the MAGA's really the problem in this case? Which brings us to my next question...

===============

QUESTION 2: If the GDP numbers above are generally correct, the EU is roughly 10 times richer than Russia.

Why can't the EU take the lead in arming Ukraine?? The Europeans have the money, way more than Russia, and it's their continent which is being put at risk. Why is Ukraine dependent on the U.S.??

===============

QUESTION 3: If we continue with the policy of giving Ukraine incremental funding and arms which allows them to survive, but never enough to win, doesn't the West lose this war? Won't Western publics weary of another "forever war" at some point? Isn't that exactly what Putin is counting on? As it is, most of our attention has already shifted to the Middle East.

===============

QUESTION 4: I really don't want to believe this, but I'm starting to wonder. Is the Western strategy really to win in Ukraine? Or is it instead to bleed Russia of money and men for as long as possible, at Ukraine's expense? I'm not claiming this is the case, I'm just trying to understand the anemic support for Ukraine.

===============

Thanks much for any light you may be able to shed on these questions, appreciate it.

Thank God Johnson finally found the courage to stare down the bullies in his party and do the right thing. Courage is not an easy thing to find in Washington, but Johnson finally did the right thing. I hope to write an essay soon on this website what I think of this whole saga. Hope you read it, ambassador!
