The obstacle is Speaker Johnson, who is beholden to Trump, and by extension, Putin. All Americans should lobby their congress-people to bring about this vote. JUST DO IT!
I'm eagerly watching the discharge petition filed today by James McGovern to bring the Senate version of the aid to Ukraine bill to the floor for a vote. So far there are 169 signatures, all Democrats. There are 44 Democrats remaining who have not yet signed. I believe 4 have indicated that they are unlikely to sign it. We'll need 9 Republicans with the courage to sign the petition. Trump is working behind the scenes promising retaliation against any Republican who supports the Senate bill.
Let's hope those 9 Republicans with courage exist.
