Mike, I am going to write over the weekend that not only are there moral connections between democracy versus autocracy. There are also deeply biblical reasons. Judaism is deeply a deification of the rule of law and principle versus the deification of power. Keep up the good work.
Ambassador McFaul, I totally subscribe to what you outlined in your video. However, I just finished watching this evening’s Washington Week (02/21/2025) with Jeffrey Goldberg, Peter Baker, Susan Glasser and Jonathan Lemire. I took from their discussion that the US commitment to NATO - Article 5 - is over and that in trump’s view, Ukraine falls within Russia’s sphere of influence (and therefore the US will no longer support Ukraine’s war effort). Hardly a peep out of leading Democrats - Obama, Biden, Harris, Schumer, Jeffries or anyone else, that I am aware of.
Speaking personally I am so *%#@&^! LIVID I am sputtering for words. WHAT TO DO?!!! I already donate to RAZOM and several other humanitarian organizations. I plan to attend the demonstration on Monday 02/24. I feel helpless and hopeless in the face of trump’s abandonment of Ukraine.
What can I offer my young Ukrainian refugee friend, here as a parolee under the auspices of the USCIS Humanitarian Parole program, Uniting for Ukraine (U4U)?
